We recommend auto mode, since the unit will automatically select cooling, heating, or fan-only operation based on the temperature you set and the current room temperature. Switch the unit into manual mode by simply flipping the switch on the front panel into emergency operation mode.
Two more operating features included with this air handler are the sleep and drying operations.
You can save both energy and money with the sleep mode by limiting usage in an eight hour window when your family is asleep. In sleep mode, the temperature will increase when cooling or decrease when heating 2 degrees for the first two hours after setting the unit to sleep mode. For the six additional hours, the air handler will operate at the more moderate temperature before the sleep window ends.
With the drying operation, you can dehumidify the air handler while keeping your home at just the right temperature. To keep itself dry, the air handler intermittently switches the cooling or fan option on and off.
Should the power go out, this 12k BTU MrCool DIY Ductless Wall Mounted Air Handler - 3rd Generation 240v will stop operating. Once power returns, the unit will restart automatically using its previous settings.
You can easily read any alerts or pertinent information for your air handler from the digital display, which can be turned off if you prefer an interruption-free space. The mute function turns both the LED display and audible alerts off.
You have the option to operate this 12k BTU MrCool DIY Ductless Wall Mounted Air Handler - 3rd Generation 240v wirelessly with a remote, an app on your smartphone, or with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Simply connect the wireless control module into the USB port located on the back of the front cover. After this step, you are able to control the unit from your choice of device. After 2,880 hours, the unit will display an alert that the air filter should be replaced.
